Chic ways to dress up a dress shirt.

Ladies, you know you have one in your closet.  I’m talking about a button down shirt.  This shirt is so versatile its crazy.  You can dress it up, dress it down, flirt it up, or button it up.  It goes great with jeans, skirts, and slacks with any style of shoe.  There’s just no way you can really go wrong.  The following offers some tips for how to dress up button down shirts for women.

Use a women’s white button down shirt as a base layer for a v neck sweater.  The sweater and dress shirt combo is great for achieving a sophisticated look.  Just make sure the sweater is fitted and shirt isn’t too loose otherwise it will look bunched up or frumpy and you don’t want that. 

For some nice color combinations, you can’t go wrong with a white shirt but to change it up a bit wear a black collared shirt for women with a red, blue, or green sweater.  A crew neck or rounded sweater will look nice as well but you may look a bit heavy so accessorize it with a long necklace and earrings to help balance out the look.

Cute collared shirts for women also look great with a cardigan.  You can wear it buttoned up or open, with a belt or without.  V neck cardigans are best for this look because they are very slimming and look nice and classy.  This is great for work or a casual lunch or dinner with friends.
